Established in 1994, MTL is a medium-sized, owner-operated engineering design consultancy located in Auckland, New Zealand. MTL employs Mechanical Engineers, Designers, Civil and Structural Engineers and Project Managers.

MTL experience extends to working on projects within the hydropower, water treatment, thermal power and geothermal power industries. Key hydro projects include the design and refurbishment support for Mercury stations on the Waikato river, hydropower scheme gate designs and the design of six hydropower facilities in Samoa. MTL small hydro experience projects include; Mangatanga, Deep Stream, Cleardale, Cosseys and Wairoa.

MTL has experience in preparing hydropower feasibility studies, detailed hydropower station and headworks design, hydropower plant procurement, power station and headworks construction management and commissioning. MTL offer the complete package from project feasibility to handover and commissioning.
